Built around 1936, the house has a total area of 600 sqm. So far,it has existed for more than 80 years. Its building features atraditional folkhouse of Hue with a 3-compartment main house and two wings on either side established in the center of the garden. Its structures include wooden pillars and beams, multi-layered earthen tile roofs and masonry enclosing walls.
The house attached to the whole life of Minister Ton That Te, a high-ranking mandarin under the Nguyen dynasty.
At present, the house still preserves wooden frames with trusses, crossbeams and connected panels carved with intricate decorative details, together with the horizontal lacquered boards, inscribed parallel sentences in every compartment of the house. There are many kinds of trees in the garden. The entrance path to the main building was led by two lines of Acalypha siamensisshrubs, very typical in Hue.
